Mountaineering and Hiking At Rwenzori
Rwenzori Mountains, also known “Mountains of the Moon” is a unique tourist attraction in Africa and particular in Uganda with several peaks permanently snow-capped and lying on the equator. It is the largest mountain range in Africa (120 km long /65Km wide) with an altitude range of 1600 m to 5109 m above Sea Level, making it the highest Mountain in Uganda and third in Africa. It is in fact the tallest horst mountain, standing at 5109 meters above sea level (Margarita peak) and the most difficult mountain to climb.
Mountain Rwenzori is also a mountaineering, and hiking destination, and it’s known that a 7-to-14-day trek can get a skilled hiker to the summit of Margherita, which is the highest peak. Our professional hikers will take you through that amazing experience.

The forest hikes or day hikes take you around the Rwenzori foothills and you can embark on any of the numerous trails each leading hikers through the thick forest at the lower base of the mountain.
